As many of you know, The Chelsie Hill 5k is involved with Zero Fatalities – a campaign that raises awareness of seat belt use and distracted driving. On Saturday, October 20th, Debbie Hill and other committee members attended the Zero Fatalities Teen Memoriam sponsored by The Chelsie Hill 5k where families from around the state gathered to remember and share their stories of losing a child in automobile crashes. It was a therapeutic experience for those of us in attendance to connect with other families who have suffered the tragic loss of a loved one through an automobile crash. In 2013 The Chelsie Hill 5k will continue to focus on our “Lace Up To Buckle Up” campaign inviting other families who have lost loved ones in automobile crashes to join us in celebrating and remembering the lives of their loved ones.
